Photographic print, black & white, large wall advertising signs for The Hub Ltd advertising women's fashions, Dainty Baby's Wear, carpets and glassware, designed by Rousel Studios, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, c 1923 Five wall advertising signs designed by Rousel Studios for The Hub Ltd, 393 Pitt St, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia by Rousel Studios' artist Stan Denford. The main sign on the right hand side of the photograph features the logo of "The HUB". It features a picture of eight stylishly dressed women in 1920s fashions at a night time function in the city, either standing on a forecourt or on steps. At the bottom of the sign it reads, "IMPORTED STYLES THAT HAVE A PLEASING APPEAL". On the left hand side of the photograph are four smaller wall signs, one on top of the other. The first sign in this sequence reads, "BIGGEST VALUE BASEMENT IN SYDNEY/Wherever women meet./Miss Hub o' the Hub as a/pleasant shopping topic". On the right of this sign is a picture of a woman holding up various products sold in the store. The second sign has a picture of six babies wearing baby clothes who are suspended from a clothes line by pegs. Underneath the picture it reads, "A comprehensive/range of DAINTY BABY'S WEAR". To the right of the product name are the words "for lifts", and underneath the product name, "FIRST FLOOR". The third sign reads, "A Modern Home ../deserves a CARPET/Character & Charm/AT LOWEST POSSIBLE COST". On the left hand side of this sign is a picture of a patterned carpet square. The fourth and final sign in this sequence has a picture showing a range of glass and glass ware. The text reads, "The imposing/display of ../STUART'S & CONTINENTAL CUT GLASS/IN THE GIFT BASEMENT".
