Physical Description
Three piece womens outfit in pink and red silk taffetta inspired by the Australian native flower waratah. The floor length skirt is very full, gathered to a narrow waistband, it has a deep scalloped hem, and a centre back vent opening with a press stud at the waistband. Attached at the waistband are layers of small pink and red silk 'petals'. The red silk top is of a sleeveless halterneck style, with a sash tie at the waistband, it has an open back with broad double straps open from the shoulder to the waist. Applied to the front bodice are a series of rounded overlapping petal shapes also in red silk. The overskirt is constructed from red and pink silk large petal shapes, overlapping and falling to ankle length, smaller rounded petal shapes are applied around the waistline, with short sash ties at the centre back.
