Summary

Physical Description

Cover of the monthly staff magazine of the Reserve Bank of Australia, with wrap around cover design. Set on an orange background, the design features a repetitious pattern of black dots in horizontal lines down the page, these are positioned staggered to create a perforated appearance. The dots are split into three horizontal sections (40:40:20) with the dots in the centre section magnified. Ten black arrows are positioned in various directions across the cover design, signifying movement and drawing attention to title of the magazine 'CURRENCY' (white sans serif text) which is positioned on six of the arrows. The overall design symbolises the free circulation of currency through the economy. Printed inside the cover, the RBA logo with letters 'RBA' in white on a black square background.

Alister (sic) Morrison's ideas on the subject are shown on this month's cover." Reference: RBA Museum & Archives Information Department Alistair Morrison (1911-1998) Born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Attended the National Gallery of Victoria Art School. Worked in Melbourne, Sydney and London as a graphic designer. Included in his list clients was the Reserve Bank of Australia.
