The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is Australia's central bank and derives its functions and powers from the Reserve Bank Act 1959. Its duty is to contribute to the stability of the currency, full employment, and the economic prosperity and welfare of the Australian people. It does this by conducting monetary policy to meet an agreed medium-term inflation target, working to maintain a strong financial system and efficient payments system, and issuing the nation's banknotes.

Alistair Ardoch Morrison, born 21.9.1911, died 15.3.1998.  Painter, graphic designer, commercial artist.  Alias Professor Afferbeck Lauder, author of Let Stalk Strine, Nose Tone Unturned, Fraffly Well Spoken and Fraffly Suite.

Note that this name should not be confused with the differently-spelled "Morrison, Alastair" (Hedda Morrison's husband).

Publisher of greeting cards, gift wrap and related products. Established in Sydney in 1837 by founder John Sands when he opened a stationery retail store on George Street next to the General Post Office. In 1865 he registered the 'hourglass' logo and 1881 produced the first Australian Christmas card. A number of partnerships were made over the years, including merging with Murfett Regency, however the company remained in the Sands family until 1978 when it was bought by the Melbourne based Valentine Greeting Card Company.
